The Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, María Ximena Lombana, in the company of the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, recognized and awarded those who have worked to encourage foreign investment in Colombia in eight categories.
With a heartfelt award inspired by the wax palm, a symbol that represents growth, strength, and resilience, the recognition of the following winners was carried out: the investment promotion agency for the entire Orinoquia region, Invest in Orinoquía, which won the category “Most innovative investment agency in investment promotion,” for its sustainable income strategy through the management of a coworking space for coworking Investors.
Another of the awarded companies was the multinational Natura, for its environmental commitment and which received the award for merit to “Investors committed to sustainability and impact in Colombia.”
Likewise, the company Zonamerica Colombia was the winner in the merit category “Free zones with high growth of companies.” Similarly, a special award was given to the company Paramount Global, which obtained the recognition “Company that has the greatest employment generation in the country,” considering that it currently generates more than 5,380 direct jobs.
The Familia group, a company of Essity and Swedish multinationals, received recognition for “Investment for economic growth through strategic alliances with Colombian companies.” Grupo Familia is currently developing a project in the region of Antioquia, where it seeks to generate about 1150 direct and indirect jobs in the coming years.
On the other hand, Nubank obtained recognition for “Investment with disruptive and transformative processes in the country,” being the largest independent digital bank in the world and operating in Colombia through Nu Colombia.
Among the other winners at the ceremony are Sanofi, with the award for “Company with the greatest achievement in the use of Colombia as an export platform,” and the advisory firm Gómez-Pinzón was awarded in the category “Recognition of legal firms committed to investment.”
It is undeniable that direct foreign investment has been vital to the country's economic growth, and it is necessary to pay tribute to those who work hard to contribute to the transformation, trust, and economic growth of the country.
