The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Luis Carlos Reyes Hernández, highlighted the crucial role of tourism in the Government's plans: “Tourism is one of the Government's major commitments to generate sustainable, responsible and regenerative development and growth in all regions”.
During the agenda, international investors will explore iconic projects such as Serena del Mar and Punta Nativa in Baru, and visit key points such as the Port of Cartagena. Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia, highlighted the importance of this mission:
“With this agenda we seek to highlight opportunities in the country's six tourism regions, showing how foreign direct investment is key to transforming tourism into a competitive development engine for Colombia.”
Cartagena is emerging as a center for global tourism investment, thanks to its cultural richness, biodiversity and ever-expanding infrastructure. Carolina Rosales, director of Invest in Cartagena and Bolivar, emphasized: “Each investment boosts Cartagena as an internationally competitive destination, generating employment and opportunities that directly benefit our communities”.
As part of the initiative, today is the World Forum on Innovation and Investment in Tourism, a space where global leaders will share strategies to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and optimize the impact of tourism on the Colombian economy.
The Colombian government is committed to tourism as an axis of economic transformation, with projects that integrate sustainable development, environmental regeneration and benefits for local communities. This strategy seeks not only to attract international brands specialized in sun and beach destinations or theme parks, but also to promote an inclusive and sustainable tourism model.
Colombia reaffirms its position as an attractive destination for foreign investors, offering high-impact tourism infrastructure projects and a solid commitment to sustainable economic development. Today more than ever, the country of beauty and biodiversity invites the world to be part of its growth.
