In 2023, tourism asserted itself as an essential pillar of the Colombian economy by reaching a total of 5'869,869 foreign visitors by the close of the year, according to data compiled by the Office of Economic Studies of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, based on information provided by Migration Colombia and the Port Societies of Santa Marta and Cartagena.
These figures not only exceed the goal set by the Government of Change in the Tourism Sector Plan 2022-2026 'Tourism in Harmony with Life', which aimed to receive 5.2 million visitors, but also set a target by surpassing the foreign traveler records of the last four years.
Colombia, under its motto of Country of Beauty, continues to attract travelers from around the world with its breathtaking landscapes, rich culture and unique hospitality. These achievements demonstrate the country's tourism potential and its ability to position itself as one of the most attractive destinations in the region and the world.
