At a conference held at the CEOE (Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations) in Spain, CEOE vice president and president of SEOPAN (Asociación de Empresas Constructoras y Concesionarias de Infraestructuras), Julián Núñez, opened the event “Opportunities in Boyacá,” highlighting the relevance of this region for international investment and the growing ties between Colombia and Spain. “Let's continue joining forces... promoting the welfare and development of people, which in the end is what matters,” said Núñez.
The governor of Boyacá, Carlos Amaya, presented ambitious projects underway that seek to transform the region into an international connection hub, including the medium-speed train, with an investment of 1.6 billion euros, and the international airport of Sogamoso. In addition, Boyacá is betting on an expansion of its road infrastructure and a strong development in agribusiness and tourism, consolidating its attractiveness as a center of economic and logistic development.
Natalia Munevar, ProColombia's investment advisor, highlighted Colombia's advantages for foreign investment, such as its commitment to sustainability, social inclusion, transition to renewable energies and its leadership in biodiversity. In turn, Gheidy Gallo, executive president of Pro Boyacá, emphasized that Boyacá has the potential to become “the agro-industrial pantry of Colombia and the world,” thanks to its natural resources and a safe and robust economic climate.
With the support of authorities and projects underway, Boyacá offers foreign investors a reliable and expanding environment, ideal for developing business in an emerging market with sustained growth projections until 2050.
