This service, established under Decree 1074 of 2015 and recently amended by Decree 1104 of 2024, will operate through the Single Investment Window (VUI). Its objective is to expedite and resolve any difficulties that investors may face in their dealings with National Government entities, with a clear focus on preventing possible international conflicts.
SIED is committed to process requests within a maximum period of 15 business days, with the option to extend the period only in complex situations. In addition, government entities must respond within 10 business days when requested, ensuring speed and efficiency in serving investors.
This management system also complies with local regulations regarding the protection of personal data, ensuring that the information provided by investors is kept confidential and protected.
The SIED, in addition to solving specific problems, will identify possible areas for improvement in public and regulatory policies, encouraging a more favorable environment for foreign direct investment. These suggestions will be submitted to the IED-SIFAI Committee, which will evaluate the structural changes needed to consolidate Colombia as an attractive and competitive destination in the global market.
With this tool, Colombia reaffirms its commitment to facilitate foreign investment, consolidating its position as one of the most promising emerging markets in Latin America. Foreign investors will be able to access this service through an online form in the VUI, making the process simpler and ensuring direct and efficient communication with the Government.
This initiative underscores Colombia's strategy to attract quality investment, improve service to international entrepreneurs, and provide a more secure and stable environment for foreign capital. In an increasingly competitive global market, the nation is positioning itself as a reliable ally for investors seeking growth and opportunities in Latin America - now is the perfect time to invest in Colombia!
For more information, interested parties can access the official platform of the Single Window of Investment and learn the details of the new system that promises to make Colombia a leading destination for foreign investment.
