ProBarranquilla, Invest In Cartagena and Invest In Santa Marta, investment promotion agencies of the departments of Atlántico, Bolívar and Magdalena respectively, organized a tour to showcase the region's capabilities to international consulting and foreign investment support firms, such as PwC and JLL.

During the tour, the logistical, industrial and infrastructural strengths were highlighted, as well as the region's tourism potential. The complementary capacities of the country's three main port zones, the 11 existing free trade zones and a business network of more than 142,000 companies were highlighted. Emphasis was also placed on the region's tourist attractions, such as the historic centers of Cartagena and Santa Marta, as well as the Ciénaga de Mallorquín eco-park in Barranquilla. In addition, companies that represent successful cases of investments supported by the agencies were visited.

These three departments seek to position themselves as attractive destinations to establish logistics and industrial operations. With a combined population of 6,571,103 inhabitants, which represents 55.4% of the population of the 7 departments that make up the Caribbean region and 12.6% at the national level. Its contribution to the national GDP reaches 9.3%, while at the regional level is 57.8%, according to figures for the year 2022, consolidating itself as an epicenter for economic development.

The creation of synergies between the three departments will continue to boost the regional economy and foster economic development. More than competition, these three departments are adding capacities that show them to the world as a much more robust territory and make them more attractive for the arrival of new investments.
