With great success and the presence of delegations from 22 countries, the IX Ibero-American Rural Tourism Meeting opened its doors at the José Eustasio Rivera Convention Center, positioning the department of Huila as a benchmark in sustainable rural tourism of international stature.

This event, organized by the Governor's Office of Huila in partnership with the Ibero-American Institute of Rural Tourism (IBEROATUR), represents a strategic opportunity for investors interested in the growth and development of the tourism sector in Colombia and Latin America.

The meeting offered an immersive experience for international visitors, who had the opportunity to learn about the cultural richness of Huila through its music, gastronomy and unique biodiversity, including the Macizo Colombiano biosphere reserve, recognized by UNESCO. During the event, the sustainable initiatives of the region were presented, such as financing programs with compensated credits for local entrepreneurs, the promotion of responsible tourism practices in 17 municipalities, and the strengthening of bilingualism in the sector.

Huila is consolidating its position as an attractive destination for rural and sustainable tourism, providing foreign investors with a platform to establish international collaborations, explore investment opportunities in the growing ecotourism market and support projects that have an impact on the region's economic and social development.

This event marks a milestone in cooperation between Ibero-American countries and reaffirms Huila's commitment to quality, sustainable tourism focused on preserving natural and cultural resources for future generations.
